Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris was born on October 20, 1964. She is an American politician. Harris is the first female vice-president and highest-ranking female official in U.S. History, as well the first African American and second Asian American vice president. She is a member of Congress and a former US senator representing California. Harris was born in Oakland, California. She graduated from Howard University as well as the University of California Hastings College of the Law. Harris started her career in the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. She was then appointed to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. In 2003 she was elected district attorney for San Francisco. She was elected Attorney general of California in the year 2010. In 2014, she was elected to a second term. Harris was the junior United States Senate from California from 2017-2021. Harris defeated Loretta Martinez in 2016's Senate election to become the second African American woman and first South Asian American senator to be elected to the United States Senate. Harris was a senator who advocated for healthcare and federal de-scheduling cannabis. The path towards citizenship for migrants who aren't legal. The DREAM Act bans assault weapons and progressive tax reform. The attention of the nation was drawn by her outspoken questioning of Trump administration officials during Senate sessions. The most notable was Trump's second Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh who was accused of sexual misconduct.
